Kevin Durant has officially been named the NBA Most Valuable Player.

The league announced Durant as this year’s winner Tuesday morning. A press conference awarding Durant is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon in Oklahoma City.

Durant received 119 of a possible 125 first-place votes.

Miami Heat forward LeBron James finished second, garnering the other six first-place votes. Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin finished third, followed by Chicago center Joakim Noah and Houston guard James Harden.

This is Durant’s first MVP award after finishing second three times.

Durant averaged a career-high 32 points with 7.4 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.3 steals in 81 games this season. He guided the Thunder to a 59-23 record. He won his fourth scoring title in five years, joining Wilt Chamberlain, Geroge Gervin and Michael Jordan as the only players to do so.

In his seventh season, Durant enjoyed a remarkable run of consistency, scoring at least 25 points in 41 consecutive games between Jan. 7 and April 6. It was the longest such streak since Jordan did it in 40 straight games during the 1986-87 season and the third longest in NBA history.

Durant won four Western Conference Player of the Month honors this season, taking home the award in October-November, December, January and February.
