On Wednesday, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant sat down with ESPN sports business reporter Darren Rovell in Las Vegas to talk about his impending free agency in 2016, if he’s keeping up with the Washington Wizards, and the constant talk on social media about his next destination.

You can watch the interview here.

Q: Although you’re two years away, you knew people were going to start talking about you back-to-the-D.C.-area potential for the Wizards when that comes. How much do you think about that?

A: “I don’t think about it at all unless somebody brings it up. I focus on my teammates, the organization, these great fans in Oklahoma City, the state of Oklahoma and fighting for them every single day … put my body on the line for them every single night. So, that’s all I’m worried about. I can’t tell the future. I’m just trying to focus on today, getting better for today, and getting better for the organization, the city, my teammates, the fans … everybody in Oklahoma.”

You have an idea of what’s going on about (Washington Wizards guard Blake) Beal and (guard John) Wall and (center Marcin) Gortat, and your high school coach (David Adkins) … (are you) at least looking at it?

“Yeah, I mean, I’m from there. I grew up watching that team play. I always want all my hometown teams to do well, including the Wizards, so I definitely keep an eye on them. But I keep an eye on everybody in basketball … I’m just a follower of the game. Of course, being my hometown team, I want everybody in that city to do well, from the Redskins to the Capitals to the Nationals to the Wizards, so I’m making sure I’m rooting for those guys.”

You said yesterday that every time you go on Twitter, and people are needling you about going back to the Wizards. Bother your or a part of life?

“It’s a part of it (life). I’m just gonna delete my Twitter from my phone.”

Is that a joke, or no?

“That’s real. That’s not a joke.”
