Kevin Durant says positive camp outweighs the loss to Kings

Training camp officially ended with a thud Thursday night at the Ford Center.

Instead of focusing on an ugly 104-89 loss to Sacramento, Thunder forward Kevin Durant focused on all 23 days of camp.

"We’re not concerned at all,” Durant said. "We can’t think about this game. We’ve got to let this game go. (What I liked most in preseason) is every practice was an A-plus. Guys brought it every day.”

The positives during three weeks of camp included a young team showing flashes it might improve defensively. That is essential if Oklahoma City is to make significant gains in the NBA standings.

The negatives included the final week, which looked a lot like the Thunder’s 3-29 start last season when shoddy defense led to lopsided losses.

"We did some good things, but tonight, we were terrible,” said Nick Collison. "We’ve got to get back in the gym and get to work. The good thing is we have a lot of practice time between now and the first game.”

Oklahoma City opens the regular season at 7 p.m. Wednesday vs. Sacramento in the Ford Center.

Thunder coach Scott Brooks is giving players today off.
