Kawhi Leonard is fresh off an NBA Finals MVP performance with the San Antonio Spurs, but he's also part of a great system, says Thunder forward Kevin Durant.
Durant said via Twitter that Leonard is "doing work like this because of the system." In a conversation with Twitter user @TigeeDwayne, Durant doesn't diss Leonard so much as say @TigeeDwayne is "trippin" for suggesting taking Leonard over Indiana's Paul George.
When @TigeeDwayne asks if Durant doesn't think Leonard could do what he's doing with San Antonio if he was in Indiana, Durant simply says "no."
"Put Paul George on the Spurs what would happen?," Durant asks.
Durant knows how effective the Spurs' system is, as he and the Thunder lost in six games to the Spurs in the Western Conference Finals. So good were the Spurs that they closed out the Thunder in Game 6 without Tony Parker in the second half and overtime.
Durant's tweets have since been deleted.
