Key players
Oklahoma, Free safety Nic Harris: Tulsa receivers were able to get behind the BYU defensive backs multiple times on their way to 55 points last Saturday. The Golden Hurricane completed seven pass plays longer than 35 yards.

While the free safety is often the deepest player in the secondary, all of OU's defensive backs will be tasked with keeping the Tulsa receivers in front of them.

Tulsa, Quarterback Paul Smith: The best chance for Tulsa to pull an upset is to outscore the Sooners, and Smith is the man to get it done. The savvy senior will be able to take advantage of mistakes by the OU defense.

Key matchup
OU receiver Malcolm Kelly vs. Tulsa cornerback Roy Roberts

Roberts, an Ardmore product, returned an interception 49 yards for a touchdown last week, but he won't face a talent like Kelly all season. And OU quarterback Sam Bradford hasn't been careless with the ball, so Roberts will have to work for a pick.

Key statistic
398.5
Tulsa's average pass yards per game. Oklahoma has allowed a total of 406 yards through three games, an average of 135.3 per game.

Hey, guys, lighten up!! I just thought the statement was comical and had to comment on it. Oh, by the way, I was born and raised in Oklahoma, '67 BBA from OU, and have had season tickets since 1999. Sooners all the way for me!!

Even though the actual statement sounds obvious, the intent is to point out that Tulsa's defense has virtually NO CHANCE to hold the Sooners to a reasonable score, so it will be up to their offense to score 60 in order to beat the inevitable 52 + that the Sooners will score. The criticism of the "most points" statement is kind of like people who jump all over bad spellers; even though their point may be clear, some people just HAVE to find something to pick on.

You must admit, however, that Gary & Scott's point is valid. The team with the most points WINS THE GAME! I'm not sure how Brian arrived at his conclusion?!?

LOL, I'm not sure why the below guys are being accused of being Texas fans aside from their locations. They are just making fun of the obvious. Basically the article says: If Tulsa scores more points than OU they will win. Captain Obvious to the rescue!

I don't know what smack these Texass fans really have to go off of..... 21-13 at home against Arkansas State, and almost losing on the road at UCF?? Hmmm....if I were them, I'd be REAL worried about the giant beating they are gonna take from the Sooners! BOOMER SOONER!!!

Bryan from Guthrie, you must realize that these 2 'visitors' from the south are starting to realize that on the first Saturday in October their smack will run out. Like all typical horn fans, after that game is over we won't hear from them again. I realized they won the last 2, but they know the string is about to come to a crashing halt. I just hope there is some way they can stay undefeated till then. It will at least give the game a little more glamor.

Obviously, neither Scott or Gary has any football sense, you're both morons.
Bryan, Guthrie - Sep 21, 2007 at 9:09 am
100% of the time, the team who has the most points at the end of the game wins. It's an amazing concept, I know.

"The best chance for Tulsa to pull an upset is to outscore the Sooners" Yup, that'll work every time.
