Norman North's two-quarterback system produced mixed results at times, but both QBs showed why they deserved to play, too.

Each threw a touchdown pass, and Meyer had the big run to cap the win. Together, they were 14 of 31 passing for 179 yards, and Meyer rushed eight times for 30 yards.

“I'm a competitor. I always want the ball in my hands,” said Meyer, who plays receiver when he's not at quarterback. “Whether they throw it to me, or I'm at quarterback, I want the ball. I want a handoff. I want to play defense sometimes. I just want to be out there.”

The win ended a two-game Crosstown Clash losing streak for the Timberwolves and has an energized squad looking forward to upping the win total from last year's 6-5 mark.

“This is an important win, because it gives us some confidence, has us feeling good,” Evans said. “We're just looking for Week Two against Del City now.”
