Killer in Hicks Park slayings gets two life terms without parole

Tulsa County jurors spared the life of a Tulsa man when they sentenced him Thursday for the murders of a young couple at a Tulsa park.

Darren Price, 21, got a no-parole life prison sentence Thursday on each of two counts of first-degree felony murder for the Sept. 18, 2011, deadly shootings of Carissa Horton, 18, and Ethan Nichols, 21.

During a closing argument Thursday, District Attorney Tim Harris, who had pursued a death sentence, suggested that jurors consider a split punishment for Price — death for the murder of Horton and life without parole for the murder of Nichols.
