ANADARKO — A knife found at a car wash across the street from the Anadarko church where an Oklahoma City pastor was slain is "probably not the murder weapon,” Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation Inspector Steve Neuman said Friday.

A satellite truck operator for an Oklahoma City television station found the knife Thursday while preparing for a broadcast, and notified Anadarko police. A KOCO-5 report described the knife as between 8 and 10 inches long with a black handle.

"It would be a long shot if that’s the murder weapon because it appears to have been there a long time,” Neuman said.

The mutilated body of the Rev. Carol Daniels, 61, was found nude and behind the church altar Aug. 23 in what appeared to be a crucifix position, sources close to the inquiry told The Oklahoman last week. A state medical examiner’s report showed Daniels had been stabbed and slashed about the throat, left breast and back.
