Two the stars of January’s Sugar Bowl win over Alabama highlight Oklahoma’s five-player group of representatives at next month’s Big 12 football media days in Dallas.
Quarterback Trevor Knight and Geneo Grissom will be joined by defensive tackle Chuka Ndulue, offensive tackle Daryl Williams and safety Julian Wilson on July 22 when the Sooners are scheduled.
Sooners coach Bob Stoops will also be there for the annual event.
Iowa State, Kansas State, Texas and West Virginia will also be on hand that day.
Knight is the only non-senior in the Sooners contingent.
That’s no surprise after he earned Sugar Bowl Most Valuable Player honors by throwing for 348 yards and four touchdowns in the Sooners win over Alabama.
He started five games last season as a redshirt freshman, throwing for 819 yards and nine touchdowns and rushing for 445 yards and two scores.
Grissom has bounced around from defense to offense and back to defense during his career but settled into a role as one of the Sooners’ top defenders a year ago.
Playing defensive end, Grissom had 40 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and interception and two fumble recoveries.
Against the Crimson Tide, Grissom had 2.5 sacks, returned a pair of fumbles 34 yards including one for a touchdown, and had a pass breakup.
He moved to linebacker in the spring.
Ndulue started nine games last season with 42 tackles and 2.5 sacks after moving from defensive end.
Williams was second-team All-Big 12 last season after starting 12 games at right tackle. In the Sugar Bowl, he moved over to start at left tackle.
Wilson was primarily a nickelback last season when he started 11 games with 26 tackles, three interceptions and three pass breakups.
He underwent shoulder surgery in the offseason and missed spring practice.
Kansas State, whose list includes former Tulsa Washington star Tyler Lockett, will also bring five players to the event.
On July 21, Baylor, Kansas, Oklahoma State, TCU and Texas Tech will be featured.
Last season, center Gabe Ikard, cornerback Aaron Colvin and fullback Trey Millard represented OU.
