Bryant connected on a turnaround jumper from the left side with 2:29 to play to give the defending NBA champions a 99-97 lead and then hit two free throws with 18 seconds remaining to push the lead to three.

The Thunder had two chances to tie it late, but Thabo Sefolosha and Russell Westbrook each missed 3-pointers surrounding a pair of missed free throws by Lamar Odom.

Bryant grabbed the ball after Westbrook's miss and tossed it toward the opposite end of the court to allow the final seconds to run off the clock.

That was an incredible game. Looking forward to many more. Go Thunder!

Did I watch the game? No. But did follow along via Yahoo. When I first looked, it was 0-9.

And the shot that would have tied it at the end of OT didn't drop. You so need to make the clutch shot at the end.

I guess some of you think Gas and Hamilton wouldn't have affected the games. Whatever.

I did see on ESPN what 31 year old Dirk did in the 4th quarter -- 29 points. You might argue he doesn't matter either. He's pretty old anyway.

I was thinking they should change the win-loss accounting and instead of counting Ws and Ls, you could have L+ and W- weighted appropriately so that teams that 'almost win' a lot of games can get deserved recognition.

Now Ryan, Richard Hamilton makes a big difference for Detroit. They players know what to expect when he is on the floor. He is a good defender too.

Alf- also - Hamilton's back up had 26 against us, so I would not say they missed much.
Go Storm!

The Thunder may have to tweak their offense a little. There is a strong possiblity the opposition has looked at last year's Thunder films from about February to the end of the regular season. The opponents seem to be sitting on their plays like most teams do in the playoffs.
Kevin Durant struggled but Ron Artest is a good player and great defender. It is never easy when Artest is the main defender.
Russell Westbrook didn't have a great game. Kevin Ollie seemed to clam down the Thunder when he was on the floor.
Thabo has done a great job this year but James Harden needs to be on the floor to take the three in the corner to tie the game. Harden is a gifted player and it would be wise to go ahead and have him in the game when they need a shot. He also is a terrific passer and looks more like a point guard than Westbrook at times.
There are alot of positives to take away. I know it is a moral victory but the Thunder will eventually learn to close out games.

"That had to be some...." Man I'm wore-out from the game. LOL

That had to some of the most fun I've had at a sporting event. The Ford Center was rocking. All we need is experience, we are so young. And Get rid of Krstic. He has no idea how to play defense.

Alf you make me laugh. Bla bla this. Bla bla that. Your such a nincompoop. LOL
Tim , Mustang - Nov 3, 2009 at 11:33 pm
Alf - do you even watch the games? Do you have any idea what the Laker's rotations are? Do you understand how Odom is a much better match up against Green and would have played the majority of minutes tonight even if Gasol was playing?? As far as evaluating where the Thunder are, the roster the Lakers had on the floor was a fantastic barometer. Kobe Bryant, Ron Artest, Lamar Odom, Andrew Bynum and Luke Walton. The fact the Thunder took those guys to overtime, despite horrific shot selection by Durant in the 4th and OT, frankly is a huge statement about the Thunder's development. Pull your head out of your bias and face the music, this team is on it's way up!

Just a great basketball game. Jeff, Thabo and Etan played their asses off on both ends of the court. The work ethic these three bring every posesession on defense appears to be contagious and bodes well for the future of this team as the season moves along. We had our chance at the end of regulation against the defending world champions--but not to be. KD and Russell need to slow the game down in the final four minutes and make every posession count. Harden shows real flashes of offensive instints and his potential is exciting for the future. The only disappointment was the play of Krstic in that he was never a factor against Bynum.

Great effort by the team.

we started awfully. some incredible play got us back into the game. down the stretch westbrook and kd have got to produce. the team looked better with ollie in the game rather than westbrook. coach brooks did a good making substitutions and exploiting match ups except toward the end.

OKC > (Detroit - leading scorer Hamilton); (LA - Gasol) > OKC. Don't get too excited.

The lakers opened the game with a fury of great offensive plays that I think the thunder couldn't handle. Before you knew it we were down double-digits and looked as if they would blow us out the Ford Center. Well as the game progresses I saw the thunder pull themselves together and play a much better game. Jeff green kept us in the game early and good defense came in handy later. If we could have had fewer turnovers, we could have won the game. Anyway, We took the lakers into overtime and they beat us on a couple of missed shots. I don't applaud losing by any means but I really think the thunder looked really good and competitive tonight. They will no doubt be a great team this year. Go thunder!!!
billy, oklahoma city - Nov 3, 2009 at 10:36 pm
Just got home from the game and I really had a good time. Thunder has improved a lot from last year to this year. Somebody for the Thunder has to step up in the 4th quarter though looked real sloppy, but I think that will come with time. Good game Thunder!

Wow - Jeff Green played awesome. Thalbo played much better tonight too. This season is starting much much better than last year - we have a lot of talant on the court and on the bench. Thomas played a great defensive game with lots of good rebounding. I still think we need to see more of Harden and his 3 point shooting. I understand the coach wants to keep Thalbo in the game but maybe he should take Durant out when he isn't shooting well - especially at the end of regulation. Westbrook looks great for awhile and then he starts turning the ball over and loosing the rythm. We are definately young, and I can see us getting a lot better in the near future. Great game.....
