NEW YORK (AP) — Carlton Koonce scored two touchdowns to lead Fordham past Columbia on Saturday 20-13.

Koonce led the Rams with 250 yards rushing on 35 carries.

With Fordham (3-1) trailing in the first quarter, Koonce took the handoff at the Fordham 8, and ran 92 yards to put the Rams up 7-3. Koonce added to the lead on the Rams' next possession when he caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Higgins.

Higgins finished 17-for-25 for 168 yards.

Sean Brackett connected with Louis DiNovo for 60 yards to keep the Lions close going into halftime 17-13. Brackett finished 18-of-38 for 249 yards and an interception.

Columbia (1-1) was unable to penetrate Fordham's defense, failing to score in the second half.

After Patrick Murray's 51-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter extended Fordham's lead to 20-13, Michael Martin's late forced fumble and recovery sealed the victory.
