Oklahoma's Korean War veterans will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the cease fire that ended the conflict Friday.

Bob Martin said the Korean War Veterans of Oklahoma plan to meet at 11 a.m. Friday at Golden Corral, 520 S MacArthur Blvd.

Martin said all Korean War veterans are encouraged to attend.

Oklahoma played a vital role in the war as the state's 45th Infantry Division was activated in 1951 and served in Korea through the end of the war in 1953.

The armistice that ended the war was signed July 27, 1953.
