BEREA, Ohio (AP) — The Cleveland Browns are expected to take a quarterback in the top five of the NFL draft in May, and new offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan will help develop him.
New Browns coach Mike Pettine introduced Shanahan, along with defensive coordinator Jim O'Neil and special teams coordinator Chris Tabor, at a news conference on Thursday.
Shanahan had experience in the role with the Washington Redskins and Robert Griffin III, the No. 2 pick of the 2012 draft.
It ended with Shanahan being fired and the relationship with Griffin deemed rocky after two seasons. But Shanahan says he learned from the experience and believes he and Griffin benefited from their time together.
