LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — Louisiana-Lafayette has emerged as the class of the Sun Belt Conference during coach Mark Hudspeth's first three seasons.

The Ragin' Cajuns have amassed nine victories, capped by New Orleans Bowl triumphs, in each of the last three seasons, and nothing less is expected in Year 4 of the Hudspeth era.

ULL was the consensus pick in a coaches' preseason poll to win the league, and experience has a lot to do with that.

Back for ULL are 17 starters include quarterback Terrance Broadway and play-making running backs Alonzo Harris and Elijah McGuire.

Louisiana-Lafayette opens its season Aug. 30 against Southern in newly expanded Cajun Field. The Ragin' Cajuns also aim to elevate their league's reputation in non-conference games against Mississippi and Boise State.
