Lady Vols will retire Parker's jersey on Jan. 2

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee will retire Candace Parker's No. 3 jersey before its Jan. 2 game against LSU, one of 11 teams on the Lady Vols' 2013-14 schedule that reached last season's NCAA tournament.

The Lady Vols Tuesday announced their 2013-14 schedule and the date to honor Parker, now playing with the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks. Tennessee previously said it would retire Parker's jersey this season, but no date was set.

Tennessee's schedule includes a Nov. 11 trip to North Carolina, a Dec. 21 visit to Stanford and a Jan. 20 home matchup with Notre Dame. Tennessee faces Virginia on Nov. 28 at the Junkaroo Jam in the Bahamas.

Tennessee's Southeastern Conference schedule includes two games apiece with LSU, Vanderbilt and Mississippi plus one game each with all other league opponents.
