ARLINGTON, Texas — For the first 48 minutes of Saturday’s game against Brigham Young, the Oklahoma defense gave up only seven points. BYU quarterback Max Hall spent the next eight minutes and 38 seconds earning the next seven, a decisive 16-play touchdown drive that gave the three-touchdown underdog Cougars a 14-13 upset victory.

Hall completed nine of 10 passes on the drive, leading the Cougars 78 yards for the go-ahead touchdown.

"We did some good things, but at the end of the game, when we had to make a play, we didn’t make it,” said coach Bob Stoops.

Hall made several impressive throws on the drive against an Oklahoma defense that had only one player, safety Sam Proctor, who didn’t start a game for the Sooners in 2008.

On a 3rd and 10 from the BYU 33, Hall rolled to his right and found Dennis Pitta for a 22-yard gain down the sideline. Six plays later Hall found Pitta again over the middle for a 23-yard gain that gave the Cougars first and goal on the six-yard line.
