Late surge lets PAOK beat Xanthi 2-1

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Lino and Costas Katsouranis scored in the dying minutes to lead PAOK to a come-from-behind 2-1 victory at Xanthi in the Greek league Sunday.

The win kept PAOK 10 points behind league leader Olympiakos at the start of the league's second round.

Petros Mantalos scored for Xanthi on the break in the 13th minute and both teams had several good scoring chances. Toward the end, Xanthi put up the barricades to defend its lead. Both PAOK's goals came after corner kicks and players benefiting from favorable bounces inside the area. Lino equalized in the 87th and Katsouranis scored the winner in injury time.

Also, Panetolikos beat Panathinaikos 1-0, Panthrakikos beat Levadiakos by the same score, Platanias drew 2-2 at Veria and Panionios and OFI played to a scoreless draw.
