First is the release party for the 2013 Wild Brew beer, which this year is a spelt saison collaboration brewed by Choc Beer Co., Prairie Artisan Ales and the FOAM homebrew club.
The party is 5 p.m. today at Fassler Hall, 304 S Elgin Ave., in Tulsa. If you want to try the beer and can’t make it to Fassler Hall tonight, you could always check your local liquor store, as Wild Brew 2013 is on shelves now across Oklahoma and western Arkansas.
And speaking of Wild Brew, the annual Wild Brew beer and food tasting event is set for July 27 this year at Tulsa State Fair park. To coincide with tonight’s launch party, tickets for the event go on sale at 5 p.m. today. I attended Wild Brew last year and it’s a great event. You can scoop up tickets at the event website — www.wildbrew.org.
The other event set for tonight is the Oklahoma City launch of Marshall Brewing Co.’s summer seasonal Arrowhead Pale Ale.
The party is set for 6 p.m. at TapWerks in Bricktown. Featured will be Arrowhead on tap and a pin (smaller than a firkin) of Arrowhead dry-hopped with Caliente. (Have I ever mentioned that dry-hopping is the best?) And Thursday is the regular TapWerks pint night, so you could score some glassware as well.
I wrote a little bit about Arrowhead on the blog last week. Marshall is working hard to secure more of the highly popular Citra hop used in the beer so they can build up a bigger supply and possibly make the beer a year-round offering.
