SAO PAULO (AP) — Ezequiel Lavezzi will take injured striker Sergio Aguero's place in Argentina's lineup against Switzerland as the two teams compete for a place in the World Cup quarterfinals.
Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella will once again field a 4-3-3 formation, with team top scorer Lionel Messi dropping behind Lavezzi and Gonzalo Higuain in the attack.
Aguero was injured in Argentina's last group-stage match against Nigeria.
Switzerland will use the same lineup that started in its previous match against Honduras, with Xherdan Shaqiri playing on the wing of an attacking midfield behind striker Josip Drmic.
Switzerland has never beaten Argentina in six attempts. Argentina has a perfect record of three wins in this World Cup, while Switzerland lost its second game to France.
