Lanier Law Firm says in a news release that Graham, Rice University and others will be sued by the parents of Dale Lloyd II.
Lloyd was a football player at Rice and Graham the head coach when Lloyd collapsed and died after a conditioning workout Sept. 24, 2006.
TU spokesman Don Tomkalski says Graham will have no comment on legal matters.
A picture of Lloyd has hung in Graham's office since he returned to coach at Tulsa in 2007.

What a sad incident for a coach to endure. I feel sorry for him and the fact he lost one of his players. I don't know all the facts, but that's a tragedy of the player who died. It does happen in football. It happens in high school football - kids collapse and sometimes die. The heat, the physical exertion, but I don't know that bringing suit is fruitful. I wish Coach Graham the best and hope he can heal, as can the family of the deceased player.
