About the group
Pennsylvania state Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, founder of State Legislators for Legal Immigration, led the charge, urging Congress to adopt laws that prevent those in the country illegally from receiving taxpayer-supported services. The group also supports punishing business owners for violating the law by hiring undocumented workers.
"Today's action by State Legislators for Legal Immigration shows we did the right thing in Oklahoma,” said Terrill, R-Moore, who authored the immigration legislation, House Bill 1804.
State lawmakers from Arizona, Indiana, Tennessee and Colorado joined Metcalfe in his plea for a consistent, nationwide reform.
