DEL CITY Lawton Eisenhower wanted revenge for last year's last-second loss to Del City. Ike got that, and much more.

Eisenhower, ranked third in Class 6A, rolled up 515 yards of offense and routed Del City 40-0 on Friday night before about 2,000 fans at Robert Kalsu Stadium.

The win in the District 6A-1 opener moved Eisenhower to 3-0 overall, heading into next Thursday's showdown in Lawton with No. 5 Moore. Del City dropped to 1-3 after suffering its worst loss since a 42-0 whipping at the hands of Moore on Oct. 15, 1998.

"We had a little bit of the edge going in, because of the fact we had something to prove, said Eisenhower coach Bill Whitely, whose squad blew a 28-7 fourth-quarter lead last year against Del City and lost 31-28. "We wanted to show them we are a pretty good football team and we can play four quarters.

After fumbling on its first two plays, Eisenhower's offense started rolling with a 90-yard pass from quarterback John Herbert to tight end Chevy Ryans. That led to a 4-yard touchdown run by tailback L.J. Fennell.

On Eisenhower's next offensive snap, Fennell scooted 79 yards for a touchdown to make it 12-0. Before the quarter was out, Herbert scampered 56 yards, setting up his 15-yard touchdown pass to Ryan on the first play of the second quarter. Eisenhower finished the first quarter with 251 yards of offense.
