Lawton police arrest five in two deaths

Lawton police have arrested five people in the city's first two homicides of the year.

— Police have arrested five people in the shooting deaths of a man and a boy.

The arrests were made in the Jan. 20 shooting deaths of Uwe Rushing, 49, and Stefan Rushing, 13.

Arrested were Thorsten Gunter Rushing, 18; Ethan Alexander Thompson, 19; Cody Xavier Davis, 19; Wesley Nathanial Bankston, 17; and Timothy Alan Delahoy, 18, police said.

All five were in custody Monday and awaiting formal charges. Police said Thorsten Rushing was the shooter and one of the other suspects was present in the house during the shooting.

Each person arrested was involved in the homicides in various ways including planning, assisting beforehand, assisting during or assisting afterward, according to a news release.
