A Lawton woman accused of trying to run a police officer over with her car was arrested Sunday, Oklahoma City police reported Monday.

Kreidaesha Topaz Clay, 26, was arrested on complaints of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery on a city official, possession of a controlled and dangerous substance and transporting an open container.

Officers were called about 12:30 a.m. to 12601 N Pennsylvania Ave. in reference to a woman harassing a man. When officers arrived, they found the woman leaving the apartment complex in her car, according to a police incident report.

An officer followed the woman's car to the front security gate and activated his emergency lights. Officer Mark Garrett motioned for the car to pull over and he said, “Stop, police.” As the gate was opening, the woman tried to accelerate and Garrett had to move out of the way. Garrett's forearm was hit by the car, according to the report.

The car continued for another 50 feet before the woman stopped. The reporting officer noted that if Garrett hadn't moved, he would have been hit head-on, according to the report.

When the officers arrested Clay and put her in the patrol car, she began slamming her body against the door. Clay was taken to the Oklahoma County jail and was later released, a jail official said.
