Lease talks continue with Bills owner in hospital

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Wishing Ralph Wilson a speedy recovery, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz says lease negotiations with the Buffalo Bills will continue while the team's owner recuperates in hospital.

Poloncarz issued the statement a day after the Bills announced the 93-year-old Wilson was listed in good condition after being taken to hospital. Concerns about the hall of fame owner's health come at a critical juncture for the franchise he founded in 1960.

The Bills are in negotiations with Erie County to extend their lease at Ralph Wilson Stadium before the current deal expires next summer. The Bills are seeking taxpayer dollars to help fund more than $200 million in proposed renovations.

Wilson's niece and Bills executive Mary Owen said on Friday that Wilson was still in hospital but is "doing very well."
