LeBron: Durant won’t fully get title pressure 'until I retire'

bleacherreport.com Published: February 13, 2014

For the better part of his career, Kevin Durant hasn't had to answer many of the criticisms of missing out on an NBA championship.

LeBron James, regardless of situation, has had to answer those tough questions.

James was asked about when Durant will start to hear the calls for titles from the media, when the pressure of winning titles will truly shift from King James to KD.

"When I retire," James replied. "When I retire. They're still talking about, am I going to win a third? You know...

"But I don't know when he's gonna start hearing it. I hope he doesn't. I don't think he should have to go through that. What he's been able to do for that city of Oklahoma City, what he's been able to do for his teammates is amazing.”

For comparison’s sake, James won his first title in his ninth season (and followed with another title in his 10th season). Michael Jordan won his first title in his seventh season.

Durant is in his seventh.
