Doesn't Leonard Pitts Jr. (Commentary, May 31) realize that many people don't want to promote homosexuality, especially to their children? Yes, people know it exists, but many of us are Christians and you can't force our acceptance of this type of relationship. We don't believe it's healthy or right. It's obvious that with the acceptance of gay Boy Scouts, full-blown promotion isn't far behind. In time, the Boy Scouts of America will end up accepting homosexual leaders. For decades we've been bombarded by the media and academia about how right and wonderful homosexuality is; if you don't agree with it, there must be something wrong with you.
Perhaps Pitts should be congratulating the Boy Scouts on taking the first small step in acceptance instead of criticizing the Scouts.
