Thankfully, for more than 100 years, others serving in our Legislature and state offices — with all their warts and foibles — weren't as removed from reality and disdain for our citizens and their safety. They were capable of thought beyond the boundaries set by a litmus test of some perceived ideological purity. Republicans control every state office and both houses of the Legislature. Failure to act can't be passed to or blamed on others.

Apparently, our current officeholders are capable of winning elections but utterly fail at the task of governing. They should all be ashamed of themselves. It's long past the hour when logical citizens, traditional conservatives and thinking Republicans demand action and accountability of those they saw fit to place in office.
