Vice President Joe Biden has advised women to use a shotgun instead of an AR-15 for protection. I put his theory to the test and visited a gun range to shoot an AR-15 and a shotgun. These two completely different guns serve different purposes — the AR-15 for precision in hitting a target and the shotgun for close range with little precision. As a woman, I didn't find the AR-15 more difficult to shoot, as Biden has suggested. In fact, I found it preferable.
This nation faces circumstances similar to that of our Founding Fathers — a federal government that would like to have more control of our lives. But liberty only exists when it's armed. It must be tirelessly defended. If you don't know where you stand on the gun issue, visit a gun range and become familiar with guns. I especially include women in that challenge.
