Libraries provide safe sites for teens

TULSA -- When teens in Bixby, Jenks and Glenpool need a safe place to go during times of crisis, they can turn to their local library.

The Tulsa City-County Library works with Youth Services of Tulsa, which operates Safe Place, the Bixby Bulletin reports.



Officials estimate that nearly 2.8 million American youth will run away this year. Safe Places offer these and other youth in crisis a protected environment.

Officials of Youth Services of Tulsa have designated Tulsa City-County Library’s 25 locations as Safe Place sites.
