Zoo presentation scheduled
Representatives from the Oklahoma City Zoo’s Education Department will make a road trip to the Norman Central Public Library, 225 N Webster Ave., for programs at 2 and 7 p.m. Monday. “Sticky, Slimy, Stinky” will answer such questions as why a frog’s tongue is sticky, why a salamander is slimy, why a skunk is stinky and much more. The day will include stories, activities and a live animal demonstration. The event is part of the library’s Summer Reading Program. Space is limited so registration is required. Airbrush art workshop set
Norman-area teens can combine a lesson in art with an interest in crazy movie posters for an art workshop at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Lowry Room of the Norman Central Public Library. Teens will begin with a hands-on lesson in using airbrush art, then they can create their own posters. Supplies for the workshop are limited, so registration is requested.
Master Gardeners host program
The Cleveland County Master Gardeners will share their expertise with the program “Composting and Shade Gardening” at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Goldsby Community Center, 122 E Center Road. The event is an outreach program of the Pioneer Library System. Claren Kidd, Ellis Sexton and Pat Hardre will represent the Cleveland County Master Gardeners and share their ideas and expertise on composting and shade gardening, as well as leading a question-and-answer session on any garden topics. The program is for ages 18 and up, and registration is not required.
