Norman library has new weekly club for kids

NORMANNorman Public Library begins a new program this week for children in third, fourth and fifth grades.

Saturday Club 3/4/5 will meet at 2 p.m. Saturdays at the library, 225 N Webster Ave. The weekly program will feature crafts, games, poetry, stories, films and demonstrations by guest presenters. The meetings will last 45 minutes. No registration is required.

This Saturday, children will learn about Wilson "Snowflake” Bentley, the first person recorded to have photographed snowflakes. They also will make a snow crystal craft.

Upcoming sessions include martial arts demonstrations, guest speakers from the National Weather Center, presentations about dairy and agriculture, a program about quilting, and Little River Zoo zookeepers discussing how animals adapt to cold.
