Event: Quail Creek Homeowners Association Fourth of July Parade.
Where: Entrants lined up at Quail Creek Golf & Country parking lot dressed and decorated in all their red, white and blue finery for judging before beginning the parade, which wound through the neighborhood streets across 122nd and on to the Quail Creek park. At the park, watermelon was served by Kay and Kraetteli Epperson and Glenda Talbot. State Rep. Randy McDaniel made a few remarks appropriate to the celebration of the memorable holiday, Boy Scouts made the presentation of the flags and the Pirannahs played for entertainment. Simon Shingleton was master of ceremonies.
Organizers: Berta Faye Rex was parade chairman; co-chairmen of the judges were Don and Roberta Carter. Judging the different categories were Mary Kay Audd, Gale and Lee Bollinger, Barbara Eskridge, Sandra Farha, Yvette Fleckinger, Peggy Franklin, Nancy Kimberling, Karen Klontz, Donna Muchmore, Debbie Nevard, Rick and Jennie Penner, Marilyn Pick, Dee Richardson Carol and Gary Sander, David Tarpenning, Jean and Darrell Theissen, Evelyn Tidholm and Jon and Sandy Trudgeon.
Of Note: Grand marshals were Sarah, Lisa and Gregg Jackson who rode in a convertible driven by Don Carter. This honor was purchased at a fund raising activity at Quail Creek School.

Where: State Fair Park.
About: A VIP Picnic Dinner was served in the Carriage Hall Building on the grounds of State Fair Park, July 3, prior to the Philharmonic Orchestra's patriotic concert followed by traditional fireworks. Susan Powell was the guest vocalist. Joel Levine is the Music Director.
