Light goose season still open

The goose season has ended for Canada and white-fronted geese in Oklahoma, but waterfowlers may still hunt light geese through March 30.

The Conservation Order Light Goose Season allows hunting of snow, blue and Ross' geese — all known as light geese — with no daily possession limits and unplugged shotguns until a half-hour after sunset.

The goal of the special season is to reduce the population of light geese, which are destroying extensive areas of Arctic tundra.
