And the winner of least surprising development of the NBA playoffs goes to…Lil Wayne, for his decision to root against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
If you remember, the rapper was reportedly kicked out of Chesapeake Energy Arena during last year’s playoffs, responding with a Twitter tirade, followed by an interview with the Associated Press, where he accused OKC staffers and fans of being racist.
“It’s the players stepping up, but of course the players aren’t white,” Lil Wayne told the AP, after Kevin Durant and others said they’d offer him their courtside seats. “I don’t want to be sitting there on behalf of you and I’m sitting next to a (person) that’s like ‘I don’t want this (guy) sitting next to me.’ (Forget) you … I’m in Forbes.”
Well, it seems, he has a hard time letting things go.
The rapper was in Memphis on Saturday night, sitting courtside and rooting for the Grizzlies, even tweeting this postgame:
And last week, he was in Miami, celebrating with Bulls players after their upset of the Heat.
Just like the Thunder, Wayne has beef with the Heat organization, who also threw him out of a game last year.
