TULSA - Rap star Lil Wayne has postponed tonight's concert at the BOK Center due to a medical emergency.

The Lil Wayne and Friends "Carter III Tour" concert in Tulsa has been rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at the new arena, 200 S Denver.

Lil Wayne (real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.), who will be 26 on Sept. 27, had to postpone shows in Tulsa and San Bernardino, Calif., after undergoing emergency dental surgery, Casey Sparks, the BOK Center's director of sales and marketing, in an e-mail this morning.

“The BOK Center is committed to bringing diverse events to Tulsa. Unfortunately, things like this happen and it was out of our control. However, we are looking forward to the show coming on Oct. 11," Sparks said in a follow-up e-mail to The Oklahoman.

Tickets for tonight's show will be honored at the Oct. 11 show. Fans also have the option of getting refunds at the point of purchase, she said.

Lil Wayne has been touring in support of his album "Tha Carter III," which was released in July and sold 1 million copies in its first week, this year's best-selling sales debut. The rapper appeared last week on the season premiere of "Saturday Night Live." The New Orleans native also received a leading 12 nominations Tuesday for the third annual BET Hip-Hop Awards, which will air Oct. 23

Sparks declined to reveal how many tickets already have been sold to the Tulsa Lil Wayne show, but said tickets are still available for the rescheduled date. Prices are $139, $109 , $75, $45, and $39.
