In-person absentee voting continues today and Monday at the Oklahoma County Election Board office. Voters must vote in the county of their registration. The schedule is 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday.

Both were wise moves Friday morning as voters turned out in large numbers at his office and in many areas of Oklahoma for the first day of in-person absentee voting for president and other national and state offices.

The first voter showed up at Sanderson’s office at 4:30 a.m., three and a half hours before in-person absentee voting began.

"It’s an enormous turnout today, it’s even larger than four years ago at the presidential election,” said Sanderson, the Oklahoma County Election Board secretary.

Mike Clingman, state Election Board secretary, said every county his staff talked with Friday was experiencing record turnouts for the first day of early voting.

"I anticipate Monday’s early voting will be even bigger than today,” Clingman said. "But I don’t want to discourage anyone from coming out.
