Lions Club carnival to begin four-day run in Norman

The annual Norman Lions Club carnival will run from Thursday evening through Sunday afternoon in downtown Norman. Also going on downtown Thursday through Saturday will be the Norman Music Festival.

The annual Norman Lions Club Carnival will open at 5 p.m. Thursday along James Garner Avenue in downtown Norman.

The carnival, which includes rides and food concession stands, will remain open until 10 p.m.

It will continue from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The carnival raises money for vision screenings and other Lions Club charitable projects.

The carnival is held in conjunction with the Norman Music Festival, which also opens in downtown Norman on Thursday evening.

The music festival will continue at indoor venues Friday night and on outdoor stages from noon Saturday until 1 a.m. Sunday.
