Summer is not over yet — Oklahoma musicians are still sweating album releases and performances. I encourage you to check out some local music this weekend. You have nothing to lose and so much to gain.
Aug. 3: K.C. Clifford at The Blue Door. K.C. is a member of the Folk Alliance and a three-time Woody Guthrie Award-winning folk singer, so don’t miss this intimate performance at The Blue Door. Tickets are $20.
Aug. 4: Honeylark at Lions Park in Norman. Formerly of Green Corn Revival, Natalie and Ryan Houck have an incredible stage presence; combined, they are an unstoppable couple. Expect a folk/rock vibe and strong female vocals.
Aug. 8: Shop Good’s Moustache Bash. The best street party of the year just got better. If you aren’t familiar with Moustache Bash, 9th street in front of Iguana Mexican Grill gets shut down starting at 6 p.m. and transforms into party central. This year’s musical guests are Parker Millsap, Jabee, Colin Nance, Tallows, and DEERPEOPLE. If you miss this event, you better have a good excuse.
Aug: 9: The Society Two Year Anniversary Party. The Society is celebrating it’s birthday by displaying pieces from over 60 artists from all over the world, benefiting Moore tornado relief. Live performances by Jacob Abello, Chrome Pony, Crystal Vision and Jabee are guaranteed to spark a good time. Happy Birthday, Society!
Aug. 10: Just an OK Art Show at 2130 W Reno. Larry Chin and Limber Limbs will be providing musical entertainment, while being surrounded by the works of talented artists such as Katy Story, Nora Bisher, Lyndsey Marie, Wicked Hippie, Bird, Caitlin Lyndsey, Sarah Baker and Kristina Naomi.
