Reporter Michael Kimball live tweeted from the Oklahoma City Council meeting Tuesday morning. Read about agenda items and discussions below.

8:31 a.m.
Good morning everyone. It's almost time for today's #OKC Council meeting. I'll be live tweeting as usual.

8:32 a.m.
Looks like we'll be getting started a few minutes late. New Vice Mayor Gary Marrs is in the mayor's chair, so Mayor Mick Cornett is absent.

8:32 a.m.
Marrs, the Ward 1 councilman, is the new vice mayor. That title is bestowed on a rotating basis.

8:33 a.m.
You can watch the meeting on Cox channel 20 if you live in OKC. See the agenda and watch live video from links here: okc.gov/AgendaPub/meet…

8:35 a.m.
The meeting is under way with the early, routine items. So far, Ed Shadid and Pete White are absent, along with Cornett.

8:36 a.m.
This is not a very newsy meeting. Not a whole lot of high profile stuff today.

8:37 a.m.
Pete White is here, so now we're only missing Cornett (who will clearly not be here) and Shadid.

8:38 a.m.
While I've got your attention, let me draw it to my weekend story on a state auditor's investigation of #OKC program. okne.ws/Rrmq6T

8:44 a.m.
We're onto the consent agenda now. Mostly routine city business items.

8:44 a.m.
Council members often choose to pick a couple of the consent agenda items out for discussion, sometimes for debate but often as a highlight.

8:46 a.m.
For example, right now we're talking about something Meg Salyer asked to discuss, support for a renovation of a downtown senior center.

8:46 a.m.
And David Greenwell asked to discuss a contract with the South OKC Chamber to help develop an area along I-240.

8:47 a.m.
So those are things council members like to bring out for further discussion because they're things they like. Doesn't have to be otherwise.

8:53 a.m.
Items requiring separate votes. Nothing of note today, really. (The post OU-Texas week doldrums?)

8:58 a.m.
We are all the way to items from council. No action items today. We'll see what council members have to talk about.

8:59 a.m.
Wow. The meeting is all the way to citizens to be heard at 8:58 a.m. ... That's amazing. There is laughing in the press box.

9:00 a.m.
He says he and others don't think there should be a business like that in their residential area.

9:04 a.m.
The response from the city is that it's technically OK by code. It's hospice care, few people.

9:16 a.m.
Another gentleman is speaking about some properties he's owned here, not sure what the issue is yet.

9:22 a.m.
I'm sorry but I sort of lost what the issue is, but he's upset, and the city is going to try to help him.

9:26 a.m.
Now we've got someone who has been a "regular" at previous council meetings, Joe "Sarge" Nelson.

9:26 a.m.
He's concerned about the recent stories regarding the state auditor's investigation.

9:30 a.m.
Today's meeting is now over. Thanks for joining. See you next week.
