LIVERPOOL, England (AP) — Liverpool has completed the signing of midfielder Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen.
On Thursday, the 20-year-old Can said: "I am proud to be a part of the family and I am looking forward to playing here. I will give it my best."
Liverpool had agreed a deal in principle with the German club last month, and the necessary documentation has now been finalized.
Can, who is a German youth international, becomes Liverpool's third signing of the summer following the arrival of Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana from Southampton.
The former Bayern Munich player had a big part in Leverkusen's fourth-place finish last season in the Bundesliga, scoring three goals in 29 league appearances.
