LONDON (AP) — The English Football Association says Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has accepted a charge for appearing to question the integrity of a referee following the recent Premier League match against Manchester City.

Rodgers questioned whether Lee Mason should have officiated the match because he was from nearby Bolton, which is near Manchester. City won the game 2-1.

The FA is likely to give Rodgers a warning or a fine following a hearing. A date for the hearing has yet to be set, but the FA says the Liverpool manager has already chosen not to attend.

Rodgers also said Mason's performance during the match was "horrendous."
