Local canine celebrity the subject of a new children's book

“Rossi the Approval Poodle” features Rossi, a Black Standard Poodle, who is a certified therapy dog in Oklahoma. Written by owner Judy Savage, the book teaches kids to 1) Respect; 2) Obey; 3) Be Safe; 4) Be Social; 5) Be Important.

"I realized that Rossi was a type of mentor to my grandchildren and that this Black Standard Poodle could be one to others as well,” Savage said. “The children look forward to Rossi's paw print stamp of approval on their little hands.”

The book is edited by Lillie-Beth Brinkman, assistant features editor at The Oklahoman. Suzanne Green, a graphic artist at The Oklahoman designed the book. Rossi and Savage will appear at a book signing at 10 a.m. Dec. 8. at Full Circle Bookstore in 50 Penn Place.

The book costs $12.95 and is classified as a self-improvement book for children.
