Lockdown lifted on Norman school

Kennedy Elementary School in Norman was locked down for a short period of time Tuesday morning as police searched for a man near the school.

— A lockdown at a Norman elementary school has been lifted.

Kennedy Elementary School, 621 Sunrise, was locked down for about 10 minutes Tuesday morning, a school official said.

Norman police were searching for a man in the area, which prompted the lockdown.

It was lifted after police apprehended the man in question.

The school is now functioning normally, officials said.
