*Playing honors: Big Eight Player of the Year in 1973 and 1974; third team on all-time Big Eight team (Mr. Hustle); No. 12 jersey was retired at Kansas State; in Kansas State Hall of Fame.

*Coaching honors: One of only three coaches to lead four different schools to NCAA Tournament wins, joining Jim Harrick and Eddie Sutton. One of only six coaches to lead three different schools to Sweet Sixteen, joining John Calipari, Bill Self, Rick Pitino, Tubby Smith and Sutton.
