Lone Grove check sent by nature’s own air mail
BROKEN ARROW — A personal check with a Lone Grove address was discovered about 150 miles away in Broken Arrow, and experts believe the lightweight item was delivered by last week’s tornado.

LONE GROVE — A photo was made available Sunday of Lone Grove tornado victim William Clinton "Bill” Wheat Sr.
He was living in a rural brick home with his son, William Wheat Jr., and his daughter-in-law, Judy. The younger Wheat was critically injured when the tornado wiped their home to the slab, Rhonda Wheat said of her father and brother.
Wheat Sr., 78, retired from the Air Force in 1970 as a master sergeant, with tours in Vietnam, South Korea and Germany. He also worked 22 years for the Uniroyal tire factory in Ardmore.
He loved travel, University of Oklahoma football and hunting, and loved to fish for catfish on Lake Texoma.
