NORMAN — Oklahoma added to its 2014 recruiting class Saturday, when long snapper Wesley Horky committed to the Sooners during his official visit.
Horky, from Ravenwood High in Brentwood, Tenn., committed to Tennessee in late January as a preferred walk-on, but Oklahoma special teams coordinator Jay Boulware reached out a short time later with a scholarship offer.
Horky visited Norman this weekend and announced his commitment via Twitter. The Ravenwood High football Twitter account said Horky had signed, but OU spokesman Pete Moris said Saturday night that he wasn’t aware of any new additions to the 2014 signing class.
The Sooners are seeking a replacement for departing senior Austin Woods, who was Oklahoma’s long snapper the past few seasons.
Horky, a two-star prospect according to Rivals.com, played in the 2014 Under Armour All-American Game.
