33, L.A. Lakers (1971-72)

Comment: Led by Elgin Baylor and Jerry West, the Lakers won 33 in a row early in the season. They finished 69-13, going 12-3 in the playoffs. The Lakers defeated the Knicks in five games in the Finals.


22, Houston Rockets (2007-08)

Comment: Playing the final 10 games of the streak without Yao Ming, the Rockets got on a roll but didn't even make it out of the first round of the playoffs, losing to Utah in six games.

20, Milwaukee Bucks (1970-71)

Comment: Led by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, known at the time as Lew Alcindor, Milwaukee finished with a league best 66-16 record. Alcindor and the Bucks swept the Washington Bullets in the Finals.

19, LA Lakers (1999-00)

Comment: Led by Shaquille O'Neal, who would win MVP honors, the Lakers also had streaks of 16 and 11 games that season. The Lakers defeated Indiana in six games in the Finals.

18, Chicago Bulls (1995-96)

Comment: Michael Jordan was in his prime, leading the Bulls to an NBA best 72-10 finish. The Bulls went 15-3 in the playoffs, defeating Seattle in six games in the Finals.

18, Boston Celtics (1981-82)

Comment: The Celtics, led by Larry Bird, got on a roll after the All-Star break but didn't reach the NBA Finals. Philadelphia upset Boston in the Eastern Conference Finals.

18, New York Knicks (1969-70)

Comment: Led by Willis Reed, who would be named MVP, the Knicks' magical run is best remembered for Reed playing injured in the seventh game of the NBA Finals in a win over the Lakers.
