Looking at the Vegas odds for the Final Four

Final Four weekend is one of the most popular within the betting world.

And while plenty of sports fans won’t even throw a dollar on the game, Vegas’ (usually) spot-on odds are always intriguing to look at.

Here are some interesting numbers, as provided by RJ Bell of Pregame.com:

Current Odds to Win Championship

Louisville: $150 wins $100 (53% chance)
Michigan: $100 wins $300 (22% chance)
Syracuse: $100 wins $400 (18% chance)
Wichita St: $100 wins $1200 (7% chance)

Louisville favored by 10.5 points vs. Wichita St
-Second-biggest Final Four favorite ever in 64-team era (since 1985)
-The biggest Final Four favorite: Duke -11 vs. Michigan St in 1999

Bracket History

-Starting in 2005, the better seeded team has won 11 of 12 games Final Four games (with four games matching up equal seeds)

-Wichita St is only the fourth Final Four team to be seeded worse than #8.

-62% of Final Four teams in modern era (since 1985) have been a #1 or #2 seed.

-Only one team worse than #6 seed has made the FINALS in last 27 years.

-17 of 28 National Champions in modern era have been #1 seeds.

-For 24 straight years the champion has been a #4 seed or better.
