With the game tied 7-7, Oklahoma scored 37 consecutive points to romp to a 47-17 win in Norman.
Taking advantage of soft coverage on the corners, OU quarterback Landry Jones used swing passes and slant routes to dissect Florida State's defense, coached by Mark Stoops, Bob's brother.
Jones completed 30 of 40 passes for 380 yards and four touchdowns. Ryan Broyles caught 12 passes for 124 yards. DeMarco Murray scored two touchdowns. Both tight ends caught a touchdown.
OU's defense also dominated highly heralded quarterback Christian Ponder. The Seminoles picked up five first downs on a touchdown drive to open the game but compiled only five more the next three quarters before OU's second-team defense played much of the fourth quarter.
